Reaching 20,000 Listening Hours With Hearing Technology

The development of listening and spoken language for a child with hearing loss is dependent on at least 20,000 hours of interactional experiences by age 5. Reaching this goal requires a child to become a full-time user of their technology as quickly as possible. We developed this resource to help parents determine what full-time usage should look like at varying ages, the rationale for its importance, and practical tips on how to keep technology on.
